How did you get to where you are today?
I started my career as a researcher in a headhunting business, before switching over to market research, first at Mintel, then briefly with Ipsos, before joining Mavens of London in 2016. Mavens was a small digital consultancy and was a great place to learn and grow. We were acquired by Kantar in 2020 and here we are.

What does your team do?
We help clients leverage digital data in a way that allows them to enrich their understanding of consumers. If the internet is the world's biggest focus group, then we are mining it for insight.

What does being a Director in the Analytics Practice involve?
I oversee live projects and help the teams delivering the work to find the most efficient and effective ways to answer the client question and produce great outputs. Secondly, I manage client relationships and make sure we understand their challenges and pain points, so we can adapt and shape our support to address these. Lastly, but most importantly, I manage people in our team, to ensure they are happy and able to learn and develop in their careers.

What’s it like, working here?
It's easy to work with the team because it's made up of smart, conscientious people who are curious about the power of digital data and who want to do great work. I enjoy seeing talented people engaging with data, with problems, and being creative in looking for solutions.

What have you learned since joining the team, personally and professionally?
I've learned that my people and communication skills are the most important thing to make a success of the role. If you communicate well with people, clients, or colleagues, then people's own talent and skills will flourish.

What advice do you have for someone applying to work at Kantar Analytics?
Be curious about data and marketing, be open to learning and collaborating with others, be comfortable with not knowing the answer - we're all here to help each other.
